Journey through the Book of Mormon: Alma 56: (Did think more upon Liberty)

47 Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.
I love the story of the stripling warriors. These brave young men were willing to fight against unbelievable odds. They were willing to stand strong in defense of what they knew to be right. And because of their devotion to their God and their cause, they had the faith to overcome all opposition.
What struck me from these verses was how strongly they believed in the cause of freedom. This cause was more precious to them than anything else. Freedom and the ideals of Liberty are truly enobling ideas. True freedom is rare and precious. And it is of inestimable worth. When truly threatened it’s champions will rise up and vigorously defend it against tyranny and oppression.
